A disparate presentation of chapters drawn from the treatments I've carried out, to give an idea of my work, in no particular order.

CONCEPT - FRAGRANCE :

The film is set as a continuum where the introduction and final scenes are taking place on the same set up : we are falling inside the iconic bottle of perfume and encounters all the femininities, as they were tones of the fragrances, and when we exit the perfume at the end with see all of the angels reunited in a powerful crew.

We wish to draw on the metaphor of the museum, in order to present each of these women like they were different paintings, set inside their very own universe. Both muse and artist as if they were living art installations, these uplifting women open the doors of their worlds to us.

As we pass through the doors of this museum, we literally dive into the perfume and lose ourselves in paintings that are ever more resplendent, mesmerizing, inspiring, bursting to life, in order to sketch through these magnetic personalities the whole palette of femininity.

Those mythical creatures embody all the complexity and beauty of the world, bringing us a message of openness, respect, strength, and determination.

Each scene is approached as a unique « painting » in which we bring theatrality, power, energy and a celebratory tone is carried by a sophisticated play of light and an effective decor, combining minimalism and creativity to highlight the personality of each muse. The principle of artistic installation can become an incarnated sculpture, in particular in the scenes of group where the play of shade and light cuts and reveals the silhouettes, but keeps a part of mystery.

Our powerful angels are breaking out the rules of body norms, gender or beauty to  reveal strong expressions of femininity. The attitude of the icons will be aligned with their character, far from what we could expect of a classical version of femininity, and therefore utterly inspiring. They are strong, fierce and proud, shining in the multitude of their feminine expressions. Using their whole body to express their inner lights, they lead us into a fascinating world. 

PACKSHOT - PARFUM :

L’opacité du flacon paré d’or et de platine dérobe à nos yeux le précieux liquide. C’est un élixir secret, la quintessence, la recette de la liberté dans le flacon le plus précieux.

Le design épuré de l’objet joue avec les associations de couleurs chaudes (or) et froides (platine). Le travail sur les différentes textures compose une délicate harmonie respirant la force calme, l’intensité au repos.

Le décroché subtil situé en bas du flacon nous montre qu'être émancipée ce n’est pas éviter les coups mais s’en trouver renforcée. De faire de nos failles et faiblesses des forces, comme dans la technique japonaise du kintsugi qui consiste à réparer les porcelaines brisées au moyen de laque saupoudrée de poudre d'or, mettant en valeur cette réparation.

DIRECTION DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE - PARFUM :

Les couleurs sont naturelles, les associations des gris-bleus et des jaune-orangés réveillent en nous des émotions primitives. Les couleurs dites froides peuvent ici apparaître brûlantes par le jeu de la chaleur tangible des flammes et du métal en fusion, floutant tous nos repères habituels.   

Des plans matière immersifs et intenses associés à des plans serrés sur l’héroïne en action maintiendrons une tension haletante et rendront encore plus magnétique la performance de l’égérie.

Les plans très close-up sur son œil seront traités avec beaucoup de soin afin de donner un effet de matière très organique.

L'image sera au plus proche de la réalité, en minimisant le recours à la postproduction et aux effets spéciaux afin de rester au plus près de la matière. Les textures et le grain de peau se mélangent et se répondent, par les qualités de couleurs pures.

CONCEPT - MEN LUXURY :

 The Method trains actors to use their physical, mental and emotional self in the creation of a character and stresses the way in which personal experience can fire the actors imagination. It eschews clichés and pursues individual authenticity and a reality deeply grounded in the given circumstances of the script.

As an example of the Method actor, our egerie is able to take a role very much to heart, to the point of drawing from himself the emotions necessary to create the truest possible character.

I want to explore in this film some of the 6 basic known emotions : fear, anger, joy, sadness, disgust and surprise, performed by this incredibly talented actor.

This film is an introspection, a journey through human feelings. The studio, a showcase of these emotions.

CONCEPT - CHAMPAGNE :

A big party unfolds in an unexpected place. Once the champagne is popped, the extraordinary happens: celebrities from very different worlds party with strangers, crazy looks mingle with uniforms. The effervescent liquid plays the main role in this party, both a catalyser of celebration and a literal figure of joy and fun. The bubbles materialize to sway and spin around the crowd, making unimaginable interactions possible. The music sets the pace for the golden pearls of champagne whose ballet goes to a crescendo. The efficient and elaborate camera movements show scenes that are more and more whimsical and amusing, until the ultimate explosion of joy, where the bubbles gather in a powerful column to rise to the sky in the shouts and movements of joy of the crowd... Welcome extraordinaire!

Our film THE BUBBLE PARTY will be a kinetic and ever flowing music film about celebration.

VISUAL LANGUAGE - CHAMPAGNE :

Camera

Our visual language should be glamorous, cinematic and progressive. A large part of our realism will come from our cinematography. We will shoot on 35mm analog film and will mix grand moments - crane shots, impossible vfx, expansive wide angles-  with an often handheld camera floating through the party. It's this duality that will make this party feel realer and not pretentious or unaware of itself. This is how we will achieve an effortless sense of cool that feels elevated.

 We wanted to carefully plan, light, and compose each shot so they could hang on a gallery wall. We’re telling a narrative that carries us from through the party and all the way to a spectacular celebration at the end. While our visual vernacular should be cohesive, we would love to infuse it with a stylistic evolution. Our goal is to get a sense of the scale, but more importantly to get intimate with the bubbles and vicariously experience the evening through them. We want to absorb the elegant wildness, the primal poetry, and visceral intoxication of this immortal bash.our camera will be kinetic but composed - moving us through the space with pace and elegance.

Lighting

The work of the light will be treated in a gold tinted tone that will feel warm, elegant but also feel human. It will give a very immersive experience to the viewer, it will reinforce the inclusivity of this party. We won’t be watching an event that we are banned from. We are visually invited to plunge into this incredible universe where everything can happen. It’s like we are with the people, dancing with the bubbles, participating in every little interaction that flashes before our eyes. This is augmented realism.

MUSIQUE - HORLOGERIE :

La maison Audemars Piguet célèbre une fois encore son ADN musical avec ce film mettant en avant l’association d’un aspect de technicité humaine et de la délivrance d’une émotion brute faisant un pont évident entre l’horlogerie et la musique. Nous souhaitons créer un film à la mise en scène virtuose qui nous plongera au beau milieu du processus de composition musicale, dans un crescendo visuel et sonore au plus près des émotions délivrées par les musiciens en pleine fièvre créatrice. Le travail du son sera primordial puisqu’il révélera l’intériorité des musiciens.

CONCEPT - PARFUM :

Dua Lipa incarne l’essence de la liberté.

 Elle se présente ici comme une figure hybride née des vastes étendues désertiques où l’horizon se déploie à l’infini. Située à la frontière entre sauvage et urbain, entre nature et culture, elle puise dans cet espace métaphorique de liberté originelle pour alimenter son feu intérieur. Les allers-retours entre désert et ville permettent de distiller dans une multitude de séquences fortes ce concept fondamental, où l’aigle agit comme son alter ego et où la lumière du désert immerge son corps sculptural dans un doré voluptueux. Elle nous entraîne à un rythme vibrant dans l’aventure joyeuse d’un quotidien bousculé, ponctué de moments épiques et majestueux. Elle vient y déjouer les codes implicites de l’espace public, originellement pensé par et pour des hommes, nous invitant à une émancipation joyeuse, devenant l’inspiratrice ultime de toutes les femmes qui n’osent pas.

UN REGARD FEMININ

Je souhaite puiser dans mon expérience de cinéaste afin de dresser le portrait d’une femme à la puissance évocatrice, aux facettes multiples et surprenantes. En effet, la force de mes films résulte de mon regard sur les femmes, la manière dont la caméra parvient à capter leur essence, leur feu intérieur unique. Je souhaite mettre à profit ma vision et mon expérience afin de réaliser un film puissant, profond et résolument couture qui hissera la franchise LIBRE dans une autre dimension, plus inclusive, plus moderne, au sommet des questionnements actuels. Cette fois-ci, notre muse se présente impériale et accessible, iconique et proche. Elle est la copine que nous n’avons jamais eu, la femme que nous rêverions d’être. Proche et lointaine, mythique et urbaine, elle représente toutes les femmes depuis l’origine puissante jusqu’à la frivolité joyeuse.

CONCEPT - HAIR (MEN) :

I'm really excited and delighted to have the opportunity to make a new film with you. In this new project, I want to showcase another aspect of my expertise, in a film that's more youthful and vibrant than the last one. This film will be more fashion-oriented than the last one, very photographic with iconic beauty hair shots, especially for the final scene of the reveal.

Here, we're all about energy, expression and problem-solving. I want to build an efficient story that will immediately speak to young women, playing with today's image codes to be as close as possible to the public. I think it's crucial for the audience to be able to immediately connect with our egerie Noor Al Dohni and her radiant energy. Through the precise staging of her range of mimics and expressions as she struggles daily to get her hair to look good, we will feel close to her. And we'll be right there with her as she struggles to master her hair, right up to the final reveal  when she finally gets nourished, light hair thanks to Pantene water cream.

We will be making her victory ours, the end of a wobbly compromise between vitality or nourishment. Feeling good about your hair is a fundamental first step to feeling good outside, everywhere.

This film will be the embodiment of resilience, determination, emancipation and empowerment wrapped in a dynamic and elegant treatment, with touches of the Pantene color code gold and blue.

WARDROBE & MAKE UP - HAIR (WOMEN) :

 I imagine a very fresh yet elegant make-up look. The emphasis is on healthy, glowing skin, careful to nor overdo the make-up, focusing more on the hair, which is free, in motion, for a wow-factor but natural look.

For the styling, I want to give a resolutely modern vibe, which matches the personality of the egerie: chic but also young, very trendy. We have to both look up on Noor, but also connect easily, like she’s the better version of us, a goal to achieve. We can add details of white and golden in the clothes to give the campaign a strong visual statement and highlight the Pantene line color code.

Outfits play a crucial role in this film, providing both the narrative chronology and the difference between the daily hair failures and the celebratory scene.

We'll have two different outfits for the "bad hair days", casual but elegant, with sheer fabrics. These can be different shades of beige or pale pink.

For the celebration shot, we need to recall the golden shades of Pantene's color code in a silk top, which will give our egerie a beautiful complexion, highlighting her gorgeous hair even more.

EDIT & TRANSITIONS - HAIR (WOMEN) :

The whole film is built around Sabrina’s bounce movement, but in an enhanced, stylized way. We use it to punctuate the edit and give rhythm to the images and transitions.

From one shot to the next, we ensure continuity of movement, for smooth editing transitions. The dynamic combination of texture, movement of hair and beauty shots creates a lively montage. This recurring principle is achieved through corresponding cuts, variations in speed and duration. This type of rhythmic and thematic pattern creates a captivating effect.

It is important that the film is edited dynamically, with energetic cuts, a bit like a TikTok video. There's a musicality to this editing, which is catchy with a touch of humor and lots of personality.

Transitions are fundamental to the dynamics and understanding of our movie. The way these transitions are made will allow us to understand that we're following the same person from childhood to adulthood. I want to play with the decor, for example, using the transition from one room to another to move from one age to another while maintaining perfect fluidity. Color temperature will also play a role, evolving as our heroine develops, moving from indoors to outdoors as she enters adolescence. Matching cuts in the gesture of covering her head or pulling back the curls of her hair will also serve our purpose, creating a subtle yet dynamic and visually virtuoso montage.
